The Splinterlands team recommends using the Hive Keychain extension to manage your Hive/Splinterlands account keys.

DISCLAIMER: Never enter your keys into a website or extension that you do not trust.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION: Several members of the Splinterlands team are alos member of the Hive Keychain team.

Step #1

• Go to https://hive-keychain.com/ and click the "DOWNLOAD" button.
• Select the version of Hive Keychain extension that you want to download.
• In this example, I selected the Brave desktop browser version.

Step #2

• You will be directed to the Chrome Web Store.
• Click the blue "ADD TO CHROME" button.

Step #3

• The following pop-up will appear.
• Click the "Add Extension" button if you agree to the terms.

Step #4

• The Hive Keychain extension is now located under the Extensions icon (looks like a puzzle piece). I recommend clicking the "pin" icon so that the Hive Keychain extension is permanently visible on your menu bar.

Step #5

• Click the Hive Keychain extension icon. The following pop-up will appear.
• Enter your preferred password in the NEW PASSWORD field.
• Enter your preferred password in the CONFIRM field.
• Click the black "SUBMIT" button.
• IMPORTANT: That a strong password that is not be easily guessed. This password protects your Hive account key information.
• DISCLAIMER: Neither the Hive Keychain team nor I am responsible for lost/stolen Hive Keychain passwords or Hive account keys.
• PRO TIP: If you forget your Hive Keychain password, you can set up the extension again by re-entering you Hive account keys.

Step #6

• There are three ways that you can setup your keys in Hive Keychain password.
• I will be using the "USE KEYS/PWD" option. I prefer this method as it allows me to pick and choose which keys I will enter into the Hive Keychain extension.
• The following pop-up will appear.
• Enter your USER NAME (used for both Splinterlands and Hive) and one of our PRIVATES KEYS.
• I suggest entering your POSTING key first.
• Click the black "IMPORT KEYS" button after you have done so.
• Your POSTING key is required to enter battles on Splinterlands and create posts on Splintertalk.io.

Step #7

• The following screen will appear:
• Click the Hamburger icon and select "MANAGE ACCOUNTS."

Step #8

• The following screen will appear:
• Click the green "PLUS ICON" under the ACTIVE KEY section.
• Enter your ACTIVE KEY and click the "IMPORT KEY" button.
• Your active key allows you to perform business transactions like buying Splinterlands cards, leveling up cards, etc. in Splinterlands. It also allows you to perform financial transactions related to your Hive account.
• Feel feel free to enter your MEMO KEY in the same manner.

Step #9

• Test your Hive Keychain settings.
• Go to www.splinterlands.com.
• A pop-up message will appear. Enter your Hive Keychain Extension password and click the black "SIGN IN" button.
• A SIGN MESSAGE confirmation pop-up should appear. Click the black "CONFIRM" button if you want to allow the Splinterlands website to access your keys through the Hive Keychain extension.

Congratulations!

You have successfully set up the Hive Keychain extension! You can use the Hive Keychain extension to manage your Hive account keys for many sites, including Splinterlands.com, SplinterTalk.io, Peakd.com, and many other services/products built on the Hive blockchain.
